The Akron Zoo, located on 50 acres just west of downtown, is one of only 223 accredited world conservation zoos by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

It is also home to more than 700 animals, including endangered Humboldt penguins, snow leopards, Sumatran tigers, jaguars, jellyfish and Komodo dragons. It is a guest-centered experience with many activities to participate in, including a live animal show, many educational exhibits, a Trainer-for-a-Day program, and multiple events throughout the year.

The Akron Zoo is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, 361 days a year.
