beautifully danced, gorgeous costuming, and exquisite music... however, this is not ATS... perhaps ITS/TGI .... but a lot of it seems choreographed, in which case it would then be Tribal Fusion ...

@rhiannyn This is not choreographed... This is improv. This is Seba and Martha Jane... They are sisters and they dance A LOT together. That does not mean they didn't listen to the sets a lot and apply their moves and transition with musicality.

You are right to say it is not "ATS" as it is not FatChance. At the time of this performance they were part (co-founders) of WildCard BellyDance... but the format still has much BlackSheep ITS in it. (I get sick of keeping ITS-ATS-SGI-TGI straight)

Hey I have a question. What's the diffrence between ITS and ATS? (improv tribal style and american tribal style)

Very Good Question. ATS- American Tribal Style is a Group Improvisational Bellydance format developed by Carolena Nericcio / FatChanceBellyDance. Carolena wished to have only the moves she included in her original format be "ATS". There are of course many troupes that have their own additional moves, but follow the underlying format and spirit of ATS... Some call this ITS. Its confusing to those not in the ATS/ITS community and frankly I use ATS as long as its improv and derivative of ATS Pura.

@danomoon well said..... i am currently studying ATS but the more i learn about it the more i hate the ATS snobbery that is out there. Its dance and its beautiful and it is inspiring. who gives a shit what label you plaster all over it. too many people are up carolena's arse - some friends of mine did a performance at a show in the UK here and apparently she was rather rude and fancies herself a bit too much.

This is not tribal, it`s basic belly dancing and not a very interesting routine. They could have done so much more with this piece of music.

ahhhh, well, that explains a lot then! :) when you are that close, & also dance together, it makes a huge difference!

i'm having a little giggle over the issue of all the acronyms. a year ago i also struggled with it, then i found a way to straighten it out in my head:

ATS = FCBD format only

ITS/TGI/SGI = all the others [i prefer the TGI, only because it flows off the tongue better, the others feel awkward [to me] also, TGI is a clear step away from ATS where ITS isn't & no flow
