Brooklyn Joann Baucom, the daughter of Roxanne Baucom was born November 7, 2000 in Red Oak, Iowa. She died on Friday, December 23, 2005 east of Emerson, in Montgomery County, Iowa from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 5 years, 1 month and 16 days.

Brooklyn attended pre-school in Red Oak. She enjoyed watching the cartoon, Dora the Explorer and playing with Dora dolls.

Brooklyn was preceded in death by her Great-grandfather, Walter Lewis Hoffman, Great-great-grandmother, Ione Schick.

Brooklyn is survived by her mother, Roxanne Baucom of Emerson, IA, father, Michael Shane Evans of Red Oak, IA, two sisters at home Vivian Nicole Baucom and Jennifer Leann Mears, step-father, Matt Mears of Blockton, IA, grandparents, Steve & Donella Baucom of Emerson, IA and Dorothy Lasley of Red Oak, IA, great-grandparents, Ray & Bernice Baucom of Stanton, IA and Rachael Hoffman of Red Oak, IA step-great-grandparents, Garie Holland of Villisca, IA, James Roshto of Villisca, IA, uncle and aunts, Steven Jr. & Stacey Baucom of Red Oak, IA, Paul Baucom and Christina Blystone of Red Oak, IA and Curtis & Megan Baucom of Shenandoah, IA, great aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives.

So sorry for your loss, please don`t beat yourself up , you need to let go of any guilt in order to have closure, yes it was a bad move, but we as mothers aren`t perfect & we make mistakes, everything in this world happens for a reason, it was time for your baby girl to go to a higher power, Bless your heart!!!!!

How precious and heartbreaking.So sorry for your loss. I have a son who was born on the 26th of December, 2000.I can not imagine what you must be going through or the thought of not having him in my life. What a great person you are to share your story. Its so easy in our everyday lives to not do the little things to keep us safe. I have many times myself, thought "its just down the road, they will be fine. May Gods love be with you until you see your daughter again.
