  • I know - it breaks my heart but it's still looking for a new home...

  • needs the original factory wheel covers for the full effect.

  • You are so right!!! I was finally able to buy the original AMC alloy wheels including the AMC center caps on Ebay. Will post new movie in a few days. Other things that were less than perfect have been fixed also. Plus a complete rebuild of te engine and transmission.

  • yes i am ugly but not like that car

  • good for you - people love ugly - remember the ugly duckling? Just like this car - got to love it...

  • dude, paint her up like the MIRTHMOBILE man!!! Then let me buy it from you.

  • If it had been the hatchback I would have done that, flames and all.

  • That is AWESOME!

Everyone restores a Camaro, Mustang of the Bill Clinton variety, a '56 Chevy or a stoopid Chevelle. Those are boring because it seems that's the majority & that's fine, but, still equals no imagination.

An older AMC and the maligned Pacer to boot with a 401 that's restored = frickin' AWESOME! You don't see that everyday and it's not a cookie cutter car like those others I mentioned. It's rare to see a Mopar but even more rare to see an AMC, especially like this. Good Job!

  • It looks newly restored. This one also has a nice interior, very clean looking.

  • You shouldn't buy a lemon car.

  • @slant6guy I tend to agree. And it's not just the Pacer, but it's AMC as a whole that's been unfairly maligned over the years. I'm glad to see that some people are restoring these old cars and maintaining them, and driving them.

  • Nice looking car. I've always prefered the station wagon version of the Pacer than the sedan.

  • nowadays, you restore what you can get your hands on...i did a parade resto on a '71 catalina, 4 door. sweet!

  • That's a good looking Pacer! Take care of it!

  • @compukenny Same here...had a '65 Ambassador 990, a '74 Gremlin X, '76 Pacer D/L, '77 Gremlin and '78 Gremlin. All were good cars mechanically. The '65 Ambassador was a really solidly built car. It was also the only V8-powered car of the bunch; the rest had the sturdy AMC inline six.

  • you love it or hate it... I LOVE IT!!!

  • Love it- like a big gooney puppy.
