  • @ferdiashepherds I’ll take that as a DON’T KNOW on the Collins question then shell I? Let’s conclude, the only thing you got right was agreeing with me “eventually” that “some” of the population were against the rebels, other than that- You DON’T KNOW who William Murphy is, the executed only became martyrs in recent times-WRONG, Kent executed for murder-WRONG ref71/356 read it!, Casement had nothing to do with the rising-WRONG, I live in a bedsit-WRONG, you called me Paddy and Shemus-WRONG......

  • @ferdiashepherds … and it’s my history not yours-WRONG, oh and you also called them terrorists-WRONG, not even French or Maxwell called them that but you do, I wonder why? Good job this is not an exam paper eh? I conclude after reading other comments and words you have used elsewhere like “I don’t want this n*gger to win” that my first instincts were correct, you are indeed just a bigot and racist dinosaur. Take that butchers apron off son, it’s doing your brain in – here endeth the lesson!

  • @ferdiashepherds Excellent! Now we are starting to make some progress. Of course your statement ref the rebels had no support from the shawlies “or anyone else” was just ridiculous! But a simple “NO” would have sufficed. And we “agreed a week ago” that some were against the rebels, so why you are still raising it. Move on!

Now, where’s the answer to my 1st question ref Collins account of the shawlies, and it can only be either – “YES” or “NO” or “DON’T KNOW” just 1 of the 3 please!

  • @ferdiashepherds thanks i understand, as you can appreciate attention to detail is so import on this issue e.g. if i was asked by someone if king george v was captured by the rebels during the rising i would say yes of course he was and i would be absolutely correct, he was, but the devil is always in the detail, anyway thanks for clarifying

  • @skippership7 No population of any city is 100% anything you silly student. The population of Dublin did not rise up and support the rebels; that is a fact. They were derided and spat upon when marched through the streets and the Dublin press called for their execution.

Those are the facts you keep failing to recognise and yet manage to keep asking puerile questions to try and explain them away. The mere attempt to explain them away proves you know I am correct. Try another tack.

  • @ferdiashepherds Look I’ll make this easy for you as you are obviously struggling here!

    1) Does Collins account on the motives of the shawlies match my own YES or NO?

    2) You say, the rebels (my heroes) had no support from the shawlies or anyone else, so by definition you must be saying that other than the rebels, 100% of the population of Dublin was against the rising YES or NO?

  • @Lissadell1916 Every word you say is absolutely correct. .... all I would say is that we were discussing the Uprising in Dublin specifically and the city population's reaction. I should have been clearer in what I posted

  • @ferdiashepherds I don’t want to fight with you but you clearly said and your words not mine “casement wasn't part of the uprising” nothing about dublin which as anyone knows is not true it’s a bit like saying the stacks keating or ring weren’t involved either or roosevelt and churchill had nothing to do with the d-day landings cos they werent fighting on the beaches in france that’s just silly.

  • @skippership7 You avoid every question and avoid admitting your 'heroes' had no support from the shawlies or anyone else. You will be slagging off Winston Chrurchill next.

The 'rebels' you idolise so much were ***ts for doing what they did during a world war and they were treated accordingly. 1000's of Irish were fighting the Germans and they were betrayed by your unpopular little band of misfits. Those were the good old days of proper punishments.

  • @ferdiashepherds On your 2nd point, not even the despatches called them that so why should I? Now stop avoiding the question which is, just in case you have forgotten, does Collins account on the motives of the shawlies tied up with my own. It’s just a straight Yes or No?
