I think this was probably the most mangled song in the movie. The real song is, like, 6 minutes. They took out "God that's good" and the whole scene of Todd and Lovett installing the chair. I did really like the movie, but it's things like this that pissed me off.

the movie would be far too long if it kept EVERYTHING. go watch the movie for what it is instead of incessantly comparing it to the original. i'm sure the original is wonderful, but i bet many people would never know of sweeney todd if not for the movie. it's great that this fantastic piece of work is being brought to a wider audience. please stop complaining about how the song is changed. i'm sure it's awful for you die hard sweeney todd lovers, but it's a movie adaptation, not a recorded show.
