After the imposition of Emergency in Pakistan on 3rd November 2007, all private channels were taken off-air. PEMRA Ordinance was implemented to control the content of News and Current Affair programming of all channels. Restrictions and Curbs were introduced and any content against the government, armed forces, national interest and live coverage was totally banned. Most of the popular talk shows were shut down. Does all this indicate a diminishing future for media industry in Pakistan? This analysis highlights some factors.
