I'm an Aussie myself, and I live on a small farm out bush. I always have respect for the wildlife. And to have your own children run around I'n the summertime is very dangerous. And death happens pretty quick once bitten by these snakes. So I'm guessing that bears get shot if trespassing into town, or elephants being shot because they don't want to be told what to do anymore.
