PEDAL INFO: This concept pedal was a limited edition of only 666 pedals. It is no longer in production as of October 2009. This pedal was the only pedal released by Dragonfly Effectors USA. They were a seller of other brands of effects pedals and they teamed up with one of the pedal companies they distributed to make a very special limited edition concept pedal with Black Metal themed graphics. It was a very small production sold online only. The BM-1 Black Metal concept pedal was meant to be a fun collectible for only die hard fans/collectors of the genre.

Here are a few demo riffs with the Black Metal concept pedal and a 30 watt practice amp using the clean channel. No additional effects are used. Stock pickups are used on the RG350. The guitar is tuned to E standard using 10-46 gauge strings.

Pedal settings: Gain (Hatred) and shape (Chaos) controls are both set to maximum. This is the recommended way to use them at all times (when using your amp's clean channel). The volume (Power) is set at 3 and the tone (Attack) is set at 6.

This pedal has a very raw, classic Metal tone. It has a very 1980's tube amp stack sound.

The BM pedal can also be used in front of a dirty tube amp to act as a "screamer / booster" effect.

This demo was recorded with a very inexpensive camera and the built in microphone on the camera was the only microphone used.

  • hm, The company that created it in the future will make even more Black Metal pedals?

  • @EvilFors3

No. This was a concept pedal and only 666 were made. The company will make no more ;-(

  • Where can I buy it?

  • @adr1ew

The pedal sold out in 2009. Not many were made. You can find one on ebay once in a while.

  • How did you set your pedal setting: highs, mids and lows?

  • @abolo4815

I had the pedal gain maxed to 10, shape set to 10, Tone at about 7 or 8 and volume was set at around 5. The amp is a 30 watt Crate set on the clean channel. Bass and treble were pretty much maxed out on the amp. Midrange set at about 5.

  • @gunnyhighway100 Just ordered the Damnation! Looking so forward to getting it :)

  • ;( I would kill to have this pedal ;(

  • Alter Ego Effectors made the sequel to this pedal. It's called Damnation. It's not the same circuit as the BM pedal and it sounds different, but it has a similar look. I have both pedals. They are evil twins! Google Alter Ego Effectors Damnation it's made by the same guys. It's also a limited edition like the BM pedal.

  • gawd it sounds soo freaking good.

  • If anyone is looking to buy one of these pedals i am currently having an auction on ebay for this pedal(number 405 of the 666 made). just search for it on ebay and drop a bid if you want one

  • hm, The company that created it in the future will make even more Black Metal pedals?
