Dumbbell lateral raises are the best exercise to isolate your medial deltoids.

If you are looking to tone up, dumbbell lateral raises will not do much for you.

Add squats though, and you get a very difficult combination to work your shoulders and lower body.

Make sure you keep your core drawn in for the squats and keep your knees right above your ankles to take out the patellofemoral joint and spare your knee cap.

If you are looking to burn fat and tone up, make sure you do your cardio and have a healthy diet.
