Credit for the first shape you see, the Icosidodecahedron, goes to Magnenaut. I filled in the pentagonal sides to make it a Pentakis Icosidodecahedron. This is a fun shape. It doesn't take a lot of time and when you are done it is stable enough to put on additions. I wouldn't go much larger though.
Special thanks to www.danosongs.com for the music.
@Magnenaut - I did get the idea of the shape from your icosidodecahedron. That is why I mention you. (You'll notice that any time I use any of your techniques or shapes...I always give you credit.) I flattened the pyramids to make it a more solid shape. You can make the pyramids the same length as the sides...but they do stick out more and have a tenancy crush under their own weight.
Creating the subunits was kind of fun without having the tutorial. I wonder if we do it the same way.

Wow, what a great shape! I don't know if you got the idea for the plain icosidodecahedron from me - but if you did, I'm very impressed that you figured out the subunits without a tutorial! Not to say that I didn't think you had the skill to figure it out, it's just that (as I'm sure you now know) the process to create those subunits is a pretty strange one.
And of course, it looks absolutely great with the shallow pyramids added on the pentagonal faces. Nice work, dude!
