Oh fuck off about the Ramones, they were backward looking Yanks, punk in their sense was a cartoon parody of 1950/60s youth rebellion. The Pistols were a totally different entity, a distructive juggernaut careering out of control through the established order not just in rock music but society as a whole until it came to a juddering halt leaving a trail of destruction & carnage in their wake. Ramones were mere John the Baptists preparing the way for the messianic Pistols.
