Dragon SS 201s aka Albrecht AE-201s

Just arrived in the shack is an old Dragon SS201s, complete with various antennas, electret plug in mike and an array of other goodies. This one must have been played around with, as it is on frequency and the sound is really nice from the radio and not the normal 200hz off as they all seemed to be. Silence is king here at the moment so more will be told about it when there are some conditions, in the meantime this was a sneak peak before the next video comes online. http://www.ssl100.co.nz/dragon.html here is a link to a great resource for this radio also. 25-29mhz and 6w with Duracells inside today, and the same with 12v external power. Will be a nice addition to some S.O.T.A Plans for the year :) AND THE MOST CRAZY OF ALL, Manufacturers will not make an SSB hand-held radio as there is "Not enough Profit in It" Shame on you Albrecht, President!!!! If you make it, the people will buy it, but again you each try and play God and decide on what someone can have or cannot. Check E-Bay 200-400euro sold used some of these, without boxes. I bought mine with the original Packaging. Come on, President dump Emperor as the Kenji/Ninja was sheer junk, and Albrecht you re-release the AE 2980 so come into the real world of your customers and sell the radio once more, you have the circuit diagrams, find a manufacturer to make it once more. Don't sit with your heads in the sand like the last years.

hello, i am also expecting to buy one of these nice radios. i have made an comand for this but seems i have to waith a litlle longer . hope i will ghet it after all. looking for long time for this one. here is the original producer of this radios

@costelyo6osc Incredibly hard to find these days and not possible new. They are NOT available on the market now as SYTC do not make at the moment RoHs material radios. I spoke to them maybe 2 months ago in Korea and not anyone Albrecht, President, Midland wanted to invest into the units and have them rohs as profits were not much with the new line costings (20-35,000$) So best option is ebay or something like this for the 201s

@simonthewizard something is not right because i spoke whit my radio suplier i sell cb radio, and i made an command of 50 pieces and he told me that he already received the sample is called dragon ss-301 whit some add on , but the radios will not come yet out . i am expecting now the sample radio to check it out

@costelyo6osc SO, the factory now confirmed that MAGNUM will be the brand that will have them but there is now not any single confirmed orders for the radios and they are checking to see if any order comes. New features yes, now know what they are BUT WE NEED TO WAIT as nothing in stone at the moment

Thanks for showing us this not often seen radio. Manufacturers should like you say, WAKE UP! There is plenty of market for SSB handhelds I'm sure. Hell, I'll buy 2 to start them off! :D

Thanks for the message, and of course agree with you. Sadly tho, it is hard to educate ignorants in companies that are only interested in profit rather than end customers. They need to learn, customers are what put the food in there mouths. Sadly they care less about the buyers, and only about there greed

i got the albrecht ae 2980 - really nice device. It's a bit big, but very durable and easy to use. But also a bit expensive with 100 euros/ ~130$

HI , got a albrecht version , one problem i have it re-sets itself when you press the PTT button , after doing the mod , (func & call) any ideas ?
