For part of a school field report, I drove out to Fermilab to look at some of the sculptures there and take some photos. While I was at it, I decided to take some videos, too, since some of the works were so large that it didn't do justice to just take one picture. Anyway, a better video with more stuff in it will be forthcoming.

This sculpture, located at Fermilab, is one of the works of Robert R. Wilson, who was also the first director of the facility. It was designed in collaboration with Tom Nicol and constructed by the members of Fermi's Technical Support Section. The piece is made of scrap components from the Tevatron, in particular the tubes used to keep its magnets in cryogenic stasis.
