Delta Flight 6499 JFK to DFW on June 25 2007 experienced more than just a routine delay.. for seven hours, four children screamed, and we were told by crew that they couldn't feed us because Delta simply wouldn't allow it.

I do not fault the crew for the delay, but someone at the airline IS at fault for not having a plan B during an event similar to this. Apparently there are no laws currently that mandate any action be taken after a certain number of hours passes. Even if the delay was twelve, fifteen hours, forcing passengers to stay on the plane is all legal. In a post-9/11 world, forget about raising your voice or causing a fuss on board an aircraft, as everyone is well aware you can be detained for making any kind of commotion.

    Hey, guess what, that's been covered below about 16,000 times already in the five years this clip has been up. The Delta brand was all over the place, ticket, gate, cocktail napkins, barf bags, flight attendant name badges. And guess who ended up compensating the passengers? Delta. So, for all intents and purposes, and as far as passengers can tell (or care), Delta runs the show -- not that BIG of a difference. But thanks for the observation...

    Delta doesn't run the show. Do you expect to see the the Mesa brand on the napkins? Remember the Colgan Air flight that crashed near Buffalo.  It had Continental on the side of the plane, Continental on the napkins, and everything else. Continental pretty much did NOTHING about it because it was officially Colgan's responsibility. And, if you payed attention to the ticket, you'd see that there would be a * at the bottom naming the connection airline that operates that flight.

    K. Well Delta DID do something about THIS one, so they must have felt some responsibility in letting this shit company use their brand as if they are part of Delta. Regardless of what the fine print on the boarding pass says, the words "Delta Connection" were not on display to the passengers otherwise throughout the entire flight experience -- so if an airline were so concerned that there be a distinction, then they shouldn't let these smaller carriers use their brand and imagery.

    Hah, it's hardly "spreading a lie". As far as the passenger is concerned, we only see the Delta name brand on everything, from the cocktail napkins to the barf bags to the freakin paint job on the plane itself! I don't care that it's "operating on the behalf of...", if Delta is willing to allow that their name be put on all these "secondary operators", then they should answer to all the problems such as this when shit goes down. Otherwise, shouldn't the word "Pinnacle" be everywhere?

    This happened on my delta flight at La Guardia but mostly due to weather. We were flying into Milwaukee and were supposed to be home at 4pm. I didn't get in until 1am and then had to drive 2 hours home from Milwaukee >.< It sucked so bad.

    i wouldn't have last more than a few hours stuck on the ground in this aircraft..i probably would have done something to have gotten me arrested.and i couldn't understand one word that the hispanic flight attendant was saying over the PA system.

    Delta at JFK SUCKS. I was stuck on a plane for three hours, and then we were 20th in line! Took off at 1am!

    I agree sadly whenever there is a crash major delay or other event people only see the logo on the tail. I understand major airlines move some of the smaller routes to a third party but they should be careful in who they pick. I fly Southwest so no issue there but my cousin flys to my house on United "Express" and says he loves "United......"
