Obama For America All-Star Fundraiser Part 4 of 4

Elected officials, labor leaders and citizen supporters of Barack Obama came together Friday, May 2, 2008 for an all-star fundraiser for Barack Obama.

Three hours of music, food and fun started at 5:30 at Bert's on Broadway, 1315 Broadway, just off Gratiot in downtown Detroit. The event was hosted by Obama Democratic Future, a grassroots group of volunteers who hold regular meet-ups around metro Detroit.

Confirmed guests included U.S. Rep. John Conyers; state Sen. Hanson Clarke; state Reps. Coleman Young Jr. and Shanelle Jackson; former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer; Wayne County Commissioner Phil Cavanagh; Dia Pearce, political director of the Michigan State Council of UNITE HERE; Bill Black, legislative and governmental affairs director for Michigan Teamsters Joint Council 43; Liz Thomas, Michigan SEIU recording secretary; Jai-Lee Dearing, and representatives of Michiganders for Obama, Downriver Young Dems, Midtown Dems and Allen Park Dems.

Obama Democratic Future volunteers have regular meet-ups in Detroit, Redford, Lansing, Northville, Allen Park and other communities in metro Detroit.
