I actually do this same method, but only when i am driving the ball. I hate babies.

The real trick is to make sure your backstoke length matches the distance of the putt at the green speed you are playing on that day. You actually measure that with a "Lag Master". It tells you how far the ball will roll for a 1-foot backstroke length.

Thanks, Jay! Your tips are excellent. I had a 29 putt round yesterday, my best ever. Thank you for not telling me to keep my shoulders square, etc. I know how to swing a putter; I want to know drills and mind-sets that make better.
