  • I felt that, by just watching the cerimony (and without understanding the language), one is compelled to focus on "bare breasts" or "the-King-picking-one-more-wife"... More (underlying) cultural and historic information should be provided alongside of the visible part of the cerimony.

  • it is insulting to this beautiful tradition to have Europeans recording the event. they are mostly interested in the bare breasts of the maidens. the significance of the event like most African cultures is lost on Europeans.

  • Thank you for your comment, Ebychi! I do think that the cerimony is beautiful. I'm from Mozambique and I feel that we're given twisted information about 'Umhlanga'; this is of the reasons why I decided to go and see what the cerimony looked like...

  • @Tremleypnt10 the king being wasteful yes true. but what is the connection between the century old swazi reed dance culture and HIV/AIDS? everything is not pornography but unfortunately, for you and your likes the reverse is the case. that is why you sodomise little boys and girls in your culture. everything human is sexual pleasure to you. not for us in Africa. i notice the glee with which your type rush to swaziland. they are always seen around the maidens. cure your vile mind.

  • I am 100% with you on that ebychi.

  • I am 100% with you on that ebychi.

  • @makgaleng your outburst is typical. it is borne out of your lack of comprehension. at least you could have asked me to clarify my point before pulling the trigger. this attitude i make bold to say this is why Africans are too conflict prone. we are too hasty to jump to conclusions and do not care to make a detailed examination of issues and seek clarification where necessary.

i will always admire Zulu culture and customs and their folklore. pls read my other posts my brother, and grow up!!!

  • @makgaleng you probably have problems with comprehension. the "moronic" Africans nay negroes i referred to are those who are so disconnected from their ethnic background that they view many sound African cultures and customs through the eyes of caucasian. i am proud of the cultural events in many African countries including Swaziland. Swaziland is not the only country in Africa where maidens go about bare chested, they actually do in some parts of South America. i am a proud African actually.

  • @ebychi. who the hell r u referring to whn u say moronic Africans? i mean Africa is a very large continent with various countries and nations which differ. Swaziland is one country where this is done and all of a sudden all Africans should b affected! You narrow minded "sophisticated stupid". Go back 2 ur grade 1 teacher and tell her 2 teach you FACTS about Africa not from a stereotyped background.

  • i wish they would be banned from such events in Africa. they see it as barbarism and backwardness and unfortunately some moronic Africans agree too. real shame!!!
