An Evening with Gale Anne Hurd

On Tuesday, November 1st, 89.3 KPCC hosted Women At Work at The Crawford Family Forum to honor Gale Anne Hurd, 2011 winner of the Women At Work Trailblazer Award.

Gale Anne Hurd, a much-respected film and television producer whose efforts have garnered Academy and Emmy Award nominations over the course of her long career, spoke with the evening's moderator, Sandra Tsing Loh, about the risk-taking innovation that marks Hurd's approach and results, both at the helm of Valhalla Entertainment and beyond.

This conversation between honoree Hurd -- established Hollywood veteran -- and writer/performer Loh, well-known "The Loh Down on Science" radio commentator -- focused on the challenges of working in the male-dominated worlds of film and TV, acknowledged Gale Anne Hurd's contributions to her own industry, and recognized her achievements' value in the larger context of American culture.
