A 20 minute movie recap of my adventures in China with Chef Martin Yan! Grab some popcorn, watch, and enjoy the cultural sights of China! Post cool comments about what you learned from watching this, and you will be entered into a drawing for a chef cleaver signed by Martin Yan!
-------------------------------------------------------

In May, I embarked on a special culinary tour with none other than celebrated TV chef host, Martin Yan! (If Yan Can Cook, so Can You!) We were in China for 14 days, arriving in Beijing, and then taking off to Xi'an, Chengdu, and Hong Kong! I had over 50 hours of video footage, and consolidated it to 20 minutes of highlights and most memorable moments on my first trip abroad!

From becoming a "real woman" after climbing the Great Wall, tasting some of the most amazing dishes, watching spectacular shows, getting cooking lessons from the chefs themselves, visiting one of the largest spice markets, seeing cute baby pandas, and gaining cultural and culinary knowledge from Martin Yan himself, this was an experience that has truly opened my eyes.

So grab some popcorn, watch, and enjoy the cultural sites of China!

* The cool thing is that Martin conducts these tours a couple of times a year, so leave your comments and ask your questions! I'd be happy to answer anything from my time in China to how YOU can go on this tour as well!

  • Nice Looks like you guys had a good time....

  • Thanks for sharing your trip! It looked like great fun.

  • @lucirz It depends on what tour you go to, but the price includes international airfare both ways, transportation, hotel accommodations, food, pretty much everything is taken care of. Expect to pay anywhere from $3,500-5,000

  • @nickisun price?

  • @lucirz He's a UC Davis alum and I wanted to go on a trip with him. He gives tours at least twice a year. If you're interested in going, check out his website: yancancook [dot] com

  • @chinopino7 That is so cool! I would LOVE to see your video when you're finished :) I would like to visit the Philippines one day too! I'm having a wonderful 3 day weekend in LA--covering the ISA concerts produced by Wong Fu and Far East Movement! Videos out soon!

  • @nickisun

  • @GeneralFault It's actually "Phasa" from the holy waters of Tibet. We were lucky to have a tour guide with the hookups from Tibet, haha. You can't find this beer anywhere else. However, I think this beer will be ready for purchase in a few years!
