Anyone caught in between these two empires suffered the greatest pains any man could endure, and many lost their lives. I in no way intended to insult you or your family. @IlmarBeekman Well, my grandpa was hunted by both. He escaped the vehicle that collected boys for the nazi army, saying that the only army he will fight in is the Estonian one and he was hunted down and put in prizon for that. Later he avoided the soviet army by hiding in the forest for 14 years. Neither the Germans nor the Russians tolerated us being faithful to our nationality and culture. The Russians still don't..

@vihmaussivenitaja Actually thats not entirely true. The only Estonians that were killded by the Nazis were those that worked with the Russians during the initial Soviet occupation and others in direct opposition to Nazi rule. In fact, Himmler was rather fond of the Estonians and thought they were excellent soldiers and racially pure. I'm not saying that the Nazis were great or anything like that. They were HORRIBLE, but history is rarely black and white.
