I think it would have been SOOO COOL if Steve would not have committed suicide and all 5 of them , Duane, Joe, Richard , William Lee AND steve would have had one big concert where they all sang songs from both William Lee's and Steve's years with the group. I would have been there in a heartbeat.

@pinkandjohnnydepprok You have some serious fucking problems kid.

You're right. Different leagues. Both stars in their leagues. Enjoyed the show more when Steve was with them.

Steve Sanders could make a decent karoke singer.. but he was not even in the same league as William Lee Golden

I dated Steve Sanders when we were teenagers. He traveled with the Florida Boys Quartet. We spent Thanksgiving weekend at my parents home. He was an awesome singer and a really great person.I have some very precious private memories of Steve at Tampa, Orlando,Lakeland, Bartow, and where I lived Sanford, Fla. He was a very talented person that left this world too soon.

I agree, I miss Steve. He was one of my two favorites, from playing guitar with the band to selling a song. Steve was awesome and I will hold the memories of him forever.
For some reason, I always knew that Steve would eventually be an ORB. He just seemed to fit as an Oak. It's too bad he committed suicide, because he could have had a musical career beyond the Oaks. I'm glad that Golden returned afterwards, otherwise my Oaks wouldn't be complete.

Singin' Steve Sanders was a great talent. It's so sad how he ended his life. One can only wonder what he was going through to make that choice. Thankfully we have video clips like this so Steve can be seen/heard by those who didn't have the chance when he was alive. It also gives those of us who saw/heard him during his time with the Oaks to enjoy him all over again. R.I.P., Steve.
