@zama59 Hi! The tank should be at least 4 foot wide by 2 foot deep and high. For handling, they don't bite at all, but they should be kept inside the tank. Taken out of the tank will freighten them and is very stressful. They are also very quick, so be careful !
Hi, no they are very rare to find in the wild in the Netherlands :) but i can imagine you need lots op patience and warpspeed to catch one. I already take care about them for 7-8 years now and they remain very interesting. I'm awaiting on offspring.
2 questions: how big should a tank b for an adult(if i get one im only going to buy one tank) and can you handle them like will they bite you?

Awsome set up. I have one in a similar set up. What temp do you keep it at? Mine is not as active as yours.

Thanks, currently they sleep at 15 oC, but usually temp is 30 - 35 oC. Under the lamps offcourse somewhat warmer.
Success !
