  • What is your recommendation for a narrower grip for women. The T-handle gouges my thighs during the down part of the swing. Is this just me or does anyone else have this problem with needing a narrower grip?

    Thanks!

  • @Sandra122253 - You could try using smaller pipe nipples and perhaps alter your stance slightly.

  • hey ross, quick question: do you happen to know what collars were you using in the video? i've been looking for wrench tightened collars. thanks for the help. happy holidays!

  • @methaddict99 - It is an old bulldog collar from Ironmind. Happy holidays as well!

  • @milesrulezz - Random won't produce specific results. Some amount of planning is almost always useful. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

  • Cool video Ross - way to help out the fitness community mate.

  • @rossenamait great! that's just what i was looking for. finally put together one of these yesterday; using a hose clamp for now until it the collar comes in the mail. thanks ross!

  • Thanks mate! I made your dip belt tonight (doing dips tomorrow) and I might make one of these on Saturday for legs!

  • Ross admirers (like myself): I think this is the closest we're likely to get to our guy endorsing an adjustable kettlebell! Ha! Actually this is another very good vid from RE and he does competently address the T-handle/KB comparison beginning @ 11:45 and makes some good points (especially re. fixed weight KB's). For a wimp like me I think an adjustable wt. KB is an acceptable option, but I guess not for a real man who swings 150 lbs.!

  • @luklum - I actually enjoy deads so I wouldn't necessarily say I recommend something "instead". It really depends on the interests and needs of the individual. When i first filmed 495, that was almost 4 years ago. In the time since, I've come to enjoy the lift. Prior to that however, I still had nearly a lifetime of training with plenty of strength training (ex. heavy odd objects, heavy d-bell lifts, isometrics, etc.). I can't single out a single movement.

  • @rossenamait Hey Ross so what exercise would you recomend instead of deadlift? Or to put it differently what exercises gave you the strength to pull 500? Back bridges? Glute ham raise?
