now other people on the other hand is something a handgun may come in very handy with. And I know it is also a great sense of security.

Yes there are bears in the woods, not sure what you think that Block is going to do to one aside from piss it off. I carry a side arm every now and then but have found that sprey and a bear bell works better. My dog usualy scares anything away. I am not saying to not bring a gun, I carry one for a living. However I would think of that as a last resort for dealing with bears.

What is the electrolyte drink mix buddy?

@Lusotrek Hell yes, NOT carrying a gun is ignorant. There is no reason you shouldn't carry a gun anytime you go in to the wilderness. Or in to town for that matter.
This mentality is the reason all you other countries always call us to take you back when you have a problem.
-
@Lusotrek You must enjoy being bear feces. It's not uncommon to see grizzly, black bear or brown bear. I would say on 60% of my backpacking trips I'll see one to five bears. If you are ignorant of the wildlife in America, I suggest you learn or keep your mouth shut.

Part 3. Drop the chair. No foot print, your tent floor will handle 3 nights. repackage that tent. Bring knife, drop that saw. Map good. Compass no good unless u know how to triangulate, so learn. No extra flashlight. no extra straps. Your med kit is outragously huge, repackage, and consolidate, get this down in weight. no cold pack. No shower. Use little disposable packages, not huge containers for products. Good luck , have fun. Evaluate your gear when u come home, next time dont take crap.
Part 2....no MRE stuff, to heavy. Dont bring more food than u need. Pocket Rocket OK. Dont bring extra fuel. Bring less food you absolutely need tocook, more snack food. No extra batteries, replace with new before you go. No extra mag for the gun. You wont need it anywy. I know...I carry tooo, on solo trip. Never needed it.

@drazzeldew1 Fair assessments. We split up our stuff into two-man teams so only one guy carried certain items, like stove/fuel for example. Since I'm the bigger guy, that was me doing the carrying, so things that are redundant like water filters, stoves, med kit were only carried by half of us. One guy's headlamp clicked on in his back, drained his batteries, glad we had spares. Didn't need the extra mag, but I wish I had more ways of carrying water, we ran out in the scree

Anything to say about the bivy? had the cheaper version and didn't like it.

@awwyeahRamin I have no problems with the Outdoor Research Alpine bivy, with the exception of the tent pole thing sometimes doesn't always stay up. But I've used it as it's own tent in the summer, or in a snow cave in the winter. I would buy it again. I should make a video of my preferred sleeping set up. The truth is, I have three sleeping pads and use them for different environments.

What is your aprox. base weight? Nice gear, looks expensive! I noticed your filter, is that the one that is good up to 1 million gallons and costs like $350? Thanks for the awesome video and happy trails!

@CDoggsRandoms I picked up the water filter for $250 on sale. Total weight with all gear, water, food, gun is 45lbs. Each trip is a little different. I just got back from snow cave camping on Mount Rainier today, so the winter gear is much more heavy. I'll post a video of the trip in the next few days. Thanks for watching.
