2009 Missouri Bowhunting Prep Work

This is one of four stand sites on this 250 acre part of our Moberly Mo hunting lease. We placed Trophy Rock mineral licks in this corner and two Saturdays ago we found no lick and the deer had been eating the soil that the minerals had leeched into. So we threw down another Trophy Rock and put up a trail camera at 3pm on Sat. By Sunday at 930 am we had 27 pictures on the cam. The trail cam pics are at the end. Hopefully we'll be able to get on one of these guys and hang 'em on the wall. Thanks for watching.

I recently bough a chunnk of property and although I got an 8 and a doe, I want to give them the best I can offer as far as minerals and plots go. How do you determine where you place your rock??

try to find a spot where they are entering and exiting timber into fields....put it on a field edge out in the open....try to make a clearing so that it can leech into the soil because they'll eat the dirt after the minerals themselves are gone...once they find it they'll stay on it...good luck and thanks for watching

@mnjbooth ya they will eat the log. i got 10 pics in one night wit no bait just on a trail. just does though. cant wait till saturday. i will check the cams again then go hunting.
