Jeff, this has worked brilliantly for me for the last 2 years. Yesterday, 5/12/11, after a new Skype download, it has quit working in ACT. I am in the USA and my field is coded to callto://+1. If I click on the skype field now, the screen goes into a continuous error loop and I have to reboot to stop it. Any idea what the Skype update did here?

Jeff I have done this and this feature only works with new contacts that I put into ACT. If i try and enter a number into the skype field with an existing contact then it wont work. Is there a way around it?

I've just been introduced to skype bordering on becoming an administrator - what type of Skype account is recommended to support this feature? The majority (+99%) of call volume will be made to non-skype account holders.

Will making a call thru the new Skype field be logged in the history for the contact?

Jeff why does mine just open my browser I have enabled callto:// on my skype - just doesn't work - please help.

Not sure what the problem is.
I just checked on Skype 5.1.0.112 and it works OK at my end.

Be sure you add the "callto://" part in front of the phone number for pre-existing contact records.
