Groundhog Day scene - PHIL's PIANO SOLO

Phil's solo is on the soundtrack - it is track No. 15. "Phil's Piano Solo" performed by Terry Fryer.

Phil (Bill Murray), Rita (Andie MacDowell), Larry (Chris Elliott), Ned (Stephen Tobolowsky), Buster (Brian Doyle-Murray).

This is the studio version, not the audio from the actual movie.

  • love this!

  • I managed to learn this song about 10 years ago by recording the audio of a VHS tape, slowing it down on the computer and figuring out the individual notes. Unfortunately for me, because it was a VHS tape, it ran a bit too fast so I learnt it in A flat instead of G!!! Arghh..I'm now re-learning in G which is MUCH easier..!

  • @mizakuta sorry to say this, but this part is the only one i don't like so much.

  • @mgman71 Well its still a little spiced isnt it? xD

  • @AlmightySpadeCostume Actually this is Boogie Woogie

  • Thank you so much for this, this is great. Is there anyway you could upload, or tell me where I can find the piece of music in this movie, when Phil gets smacked several times, and then he holds the door for Rita as she enters the hotel and then; a lovely instrumental version of "You don´t know me" plays, the one with only bass and saxophone I think (no singing). I rewind it over and over and over. I love, love love, love, love, love it. Thanks again. So happy I found this.

  • @siberguy1 its jazz improvisation.. there is none ;)
