She does such a good job of being sweet that you can't help but love her--even though she's not beautiful. She has an innocent, breathy voice and is so kind. River's performance isn't spectacular--this movie wasn't his best work. But they do well together. Poor girl!! Being invited to one of these would be my worst nightmare--how can people be so mean!?

I haven't watched a movie of Rivers in a while because it always makes me sooo sad that he's gone. I forgot how much I loved him in this.

@sweetprism00 well yeah, he was outstanding Stand By Me, even in Seven Bridesr Seven Brothers when he was still child he showed promise as an acr. I think he was generally a better than good actor in all of his roles tbh.

@onehotminutex Among his best work, yes, but I still contend that his role in "Stand by me" was better. Very few pre-teens could pull off a role like that without being obnoxious or overacting. There is no denying he is amazing in this role, but overcoming puberty like he did in SBM is an extremely difficult thing to do.

@sweetprism00 i disagree, i think river was wonderful in this and i think it is amoung his best work. especially the final scene, his face is perfect. the expression and emotion, he and lili had alot of on screen chemistry.

i don't know why but there is just something in berzin's ie richard panbianco's eyes after birdlace- rivers outburst at Rose of not being mad at her that seems far to genuine &deep to have been acted--what a beautiful guy.. i dunno why but i just feel this sense of genuine care &concern 4 his new buddy River than meets the eye so to speak..don't ask me why i'm just being weird i spose..but i dunno i can almost sense that he cud see how deep river was getting into things---ultimately too deep..^^
