My new Kimber 1911 Stainless TLE 2 in .45 ACP came with rubber grips and plastic main spring housing. i decided to change them. I got Flat Main Spring housing from Ed Brown with Maxi-Well and Hogue Rosewood grips. install was a simple process but the way the gun looks and functions have improved. its easier to insert a mag and the looks have definitely improved due to rosewood grips...

  • @KiingAbdul yea, i didnt think i was going to install a magwell cause of the old grips and the magwell gap but after a lot of research i found they make grips specifically for magwells and without any gun- smithing at all, everything installed and fit like it belongs there...glad you like it, thank you for watching...

  • @impalor1979 oh i bet, i have a RIA 1911, and she shoots great, and very accurate even with G.I. sights. I never liked the way magwells looked on 1911s , but the way you did it by replacing the grips to the flat bottom makes a world of difference! that magwell looks like it belongs there!

  • @KiingAbdul it shoots even better then it looks :) thank you for watching.

  • Beautiful 1911 you got there!

  • @xSamKilledYoux my purchase price was $950, plus $79 bucks for ed brown main spring housing and mag well, and $25 for grips, so its around $1,054. but dont forget that the main spring housing and grips that come with the gun are perfectly fine and replacing them were pretty much just for the looks of it...the gun fires and functions perfectly with original parts...since it has a match-grade components, trigger, barrel, etc...i wont be replacing anything else in it...only springs from wear & tear

  • @QUIXIOTRADE the cocobolo grips are darker so you wont see dirt on them as much as rosewood...also rosewood has a nice "striped" wood vertical pattern, they are lighter in color, i chose rosewood cause i wanted lighter color, i clean my guns often so getting lighter grips dirty wont be a problem for me...they both look great...it'll look good with either one...

  • @impalor1979 hi impalor, thanks very much for the informations. Also cocobolo grips (item 548427) are very nice. Now I'm in dubt...Any suggestions from you?.

    Thanks again

  • @QUIXIOTRADE sorry, i copied wrong grips for you, the ones that are installed on this gun are Hogue Fancy Hardwood Grips 1911 Government, Commander with Extended Magazine Well Checkered Rosewood Laminate Product #: 435432 Manufacturer #: 45571. they have really nice vertical wood grain lines...from midwayusa

  • hey, im glad you like it...it made a huge difference to the way the gun looks. the grips are great, real wood, very nice to handle them even with sweaty hands...i got everything at midwayusa, the grips are (Hogue Grips 1911 Government, Commander with Extended Magazine Well Checkered Cocobolo Product #: 548427 Manufacturer #: 45871)...love that site...

  • Hallo impalor1979. Very nice video. I have the same TLE and I'm going to buy an Ed Brown MSH with drop- in magwell (the snakeskin model). Like you I'll substitute the original rubber grips with wooden grips. I love your Hogue. Please con you say me the Hogue Item number? Thanks
