It'd by no means a permanent fix, but it's a simple one and can be done with it's regular maintinance, Oil changes and such, and will save oil, as well as prevent the bronze guides from heat bonding and flaking with use.
The reason I recomend this?
The old ones used Bronze Valve guidesm,

you mite soak the valve train and Jug in kerosien for say?
3-4 day's then rinse with brake fluid,
Clean with bake or carburator solvent,
fill with fresh W-40 oil, and then powder the guids with
Graphite, and runn till it set's in well.
