A small missions group traveled halfway across the world to deliver a sefer Torah to the Jewish community in the Putti village of Uganda. The group was supported by Rabbi Nasanya Zakon and Rabbi Avraham Bloomenstiel, and lead/ delivered by Dr. Isador Lieberman and Judah Epstein. The Group also delivered over 200 Kinder Kits which include a backpack filled with useful school supplies for the children of the village. The Mbale community has been in existence since the early 1900's and did not have a torah of their own, but thanks to the work and preparation of the team, finding, restoring, and delivering the Torah, they now celebrate having the Torah in this small village. the world isn't only made of materialistic things... did you see suffeing faces? I didn't ...

If you don't know anything, you wont miss it... to you it seems like a life of nothing, but they are satisfied by things they already got...

  • Amazing!

well the rabbinate in the state of israel is just mad that no one outside of israel cares what they have to say even though they think they are the next sanhedrin

life must be hard if no one of importance cares about you ;)

  • I think this is a beautiful thing to do. I would like to know more about the history of these people and which rabbinical body has verified that they are Jews, or that they converted al pi halacha. A community cannot "convert" as a whole. In addition, there are numerous small communities of Africans throughout the continent that practice some Jewish traditions, some more, some less. Their origins and Jewish heritage al pi halacha is questionable. Does anyone have info for this group in Uganda?

  • Que hermosura, por favor.. Que preciosos!!
