  • I've been listening to Magaloff's recording of Chopin's preludes since I was a kid. For me they'll always be the definitive interpretation.

  • I like the clarity of tone, but the interpretation seems very metronomic to me--all surfaces, without the deeper ruminations this nocturne requires.

  • Nikita Magaloff: one of the greatet masters of phrasing and touch on the keybord in the 20th century. I had the great luck to hear him playing a chopin recital lots of years ago. He was 79 y.o. then but so unique. I will never forget that experience. Many many thanks, Maestro.

  • A luminous performance (esp. for the phrasing) of one of the more crucial moments in western musical history. Why? Because it is an annunciation holier than any story told by religion. It is the first, the unconscious prophecy of a 20 yr. old genius that says, "you will be taken to unexplored dimensions of inner experience; music will be forever changed." There would be 19 more, each of them a diamond in the crown of a god.

  • grazie :p
