Again is this guy serious?

first comment, every religion is man trying to reach God on his/her own terms. the righteousness of man is as filthy rags in Gods eyes. its like trying to wash off mud by bathing in a mud puddle.
second, no matter what family a child is born into, the child carries with it a sinful nature. with that said, a child is'nt accountable for its sin ontill it is mature enough to understand right from wrong.its not about religion, its man being acceptable to God through Christ Jesus.

Adelphopoiesis is claimed by some as an early form of same-sex unions blessed by the church.

babakn25, if "God loves people," then what sense does it make for God to burn them for eternity? It's a stark contradiction, which caused many to reject religion altogether.
-
LOL @ babakn25,
Did you even think about what vrlobo88 had said? Calling him an "Antichrist" truly makes you seem simple-minded and ignorant. Please think before you speak.
What's more evil? Burning people in a lake of fire for being born into a non-Christian faith, or a loving God who is accepting of people of a varying faith, since many are indoctrinated into their respective religion?

You're absolutely right; salvation solely through Jesus Christ makes absolutely no sense! I have the same views on the subject.
You say you go through Catholic Teaching. Do you realize the Catholic Church states there is no salvation outside of Christ(the Church)? Unum Sanctum. Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus "Outside the Church there is no salvation".

that is not the teaching of the catholic church today. unum sanctum was directed to french catholics who were unsure of whether to side with the french govt or the church/pope hundreds of years ago during the struggle for power between church, crown, and nobility. those statements must be put into context. also, just because a pope says something, doesn't mean that what he says is the doctrine of the church. any priest or bishop will tell you that the church does not condemn non-catholics.

No, that statement is still binding and infallible. It was declared in the fourth latreran counsel. The only way someone can be saved outside the church is by invisable ignorance the CCC states.

uh not in the way you interpret it. one has to acknowledge that the catholic church is the true way and then turn away from it. however, i'm saying that these non-christians do not acknowledge that the church is the true way. they are adamant believers of their religion and believe theirs is the true way. see the second vatican council's lumen gentium.

what is your source of authority? where do you go to get your facts and truths from? I'd like to know because you sound like you have a lot of information. Thank you.

1) the bible, 2) catholic teaching and catechism, 3) the brain God gave me (basic logic)....the laws of nature that we hold true today (gravity, motion, etc) were established through use of the human brain...its amazing what we can do when we don't taking everything we're told for granted :)
