Evansville IceMen General Manager Chip Rossetti and Owner Ron Geary present IceMen goaltender Kira Hurley with a plaque, commemorating her first career assist and subsequent recognition by the Hockey Hall of Fame. This presentation took place prior to Evansville's game against the Chi-Town Shooters on February 20, 2009. The IceMen won 7-5 in front of an All American Hockey Association record crowd of 1271 at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville, Indiana.

Hurley picked up her assist in the 3rd period of Evansville's 24-4 thumping of the Chicago Blaze on February 14. In doing so, she became the first female goaltender EVER to earn a point in a mens professional hockey game anywhere in the world.

The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto came calling, wishing to recognize Hurleys historic achievement. So Kiras game-worn jersey and game-used stick, along with the official scoresheet from the 2/14 game, will soon be featured in the Hockey Hall of Fame!.

Starting in the summer of 2009, Kira and the IceMen will be included in the Halls 2008-2009 Year in Review exhibit, which will highlight significant events and accomplishments from around the hockey world during the season. After the Year in Review exhibit is changed to recognize events from the 2009-2010 season, Kiras display will be moved to the Halls minor league wing, where it will be featured permanently.
