Although not every artist is as attentive to fashion as Kanye West, style does make its way into their lives. Sometimes driven by practical purpose, other times by personal expression or as part of performance, fashion plays a role in the aesthetic landscape of many artists. In this episode, we talk with a diverse array of creators about the relationship of style and fashion to their lives and work. Featured artists include the songwriter Yuna from Fader Label, street artist WK Interact, skateboard deck and apparel designers 5boro, painter and toy designer Tara McPherson, and artist Casey Spooner of Fischerspooner.

Fashion is there for those who lack creativity and are too afraid to stand out of their own clique. Fashion is for people who like to be oppressed by the commercial world and those who like to make others feel their 'power'.
Fashion is a very very dangerous religion!

I've found that most of the artist I knew to be the most skilled and have the most profound affect on my life ended up dressing very blue-collar. I think there is something to be said about a brilliant mind with an unassuming exterior.

Fashion is just another tool that we use to separate one another. We use it to judge others and make assumptions about that person. Rich, poor, conformist, non-conformist, slut or saint...people are judged by what they wear and that is very, very sad.
