How much do you sell your drives for?

No unfortunately.

So I take it the PS3 Blu-Ray drive is keyed to the motherboard via the drives firmware like the Xbox 360. Can't you just extract the firmware from the old drive and flash it to the new ... isn't their a software tool like JungleFlasher for the PS3 for this purpose?

@markimako i fix ylod for 40$

Where do you order your drives from? A friend of mine has an older 40GB ps3 I sold him years ago that finally stopped reading disks and he is thinking of trying to fix it.

@xXJanValentineXx hey, you might have already found the answer, if not or else for anyone else with the same question: search for a ps3 laser model/compatibility guide/chart. you can find your model number on the backside of you PS3. and don't be lazy by replacing the whole bluray DVD drive (cost more), because that won't work! ^ ^
hi i replaced drive with a new one but not regitering on ps3. i put everything together ok. My old one was cluncky and i have put that back on and it now seems the same as my new one which is quiet but not registering.

@MM34ify If you have indeed made sure to swap the circuit board properly and since there are many more models of PS3 now than at the time I made this video, made sure you used the right model blue-ray drive and it's still not registering disks then that only leave a few possibilities. Either you have purchased a drive that is also broken (sadly a lot of people sell their broken ones as working or "as-is"), your board is what is broken, or it is something else and needs to be fixed by sony sadly.
