P.S. For those somewhat inexperienced cooking enthusiasts (like me)... cooking Lobster is probably the most EASIEST to do... I am an animal lover of PETS... but when survival mode kicks in... well, it is time to distinguish the food between the "pets". If you don't... well, the Good Lord made us with 2 incisor teeth within our mouths. If He meant something different, we would have been made to chew cud like a cow. Case in point:,, McD's and KFC and along with many others would be out of business... yes?
The most humane cooking of Live Lobster (or live crab) though is to make sure that the lobster is put in "head-first". a LARGE pot (Lobster pot - if you have one is preferred) with BOILING HOT water. This year though, unfortunately, "Fred" was still kicking. :( That DOES NOT normally happen when a lobster is put in head first... but still, "Fred"'s death was QUICK because we did put him in "head-first". (A few years back, we cooked Lucy and Ricky, so this year it was Fred and Ethel.)
When I made my "dance" with 'obay"... what I meant was Old Bay seasoning... with sea salt... lots of it.. along with parsley within the boiling pot b4 putting in the live lobster.
It doesn't take long to cook lobster... about 14 minutes for 2 2-1/2 lb lobsters (wait til water boils again after putting the somewhat shocked from the cold live refrigerated lobster into the boiling pot. Then wait until water boils again.
Melt butter or margarine with a mixture of Old Bay seasoning, parsley and garlic (salted powder or fresh) into bowls for dipping....
Bon Appetite!
