Learn the three steps to making rich, smooth gravy.

Gravy is the delicious marriage of meat or poultry drippings and starch. In this video, you'll learn how to make brown gravy from scratch in three easy steps. You'll learn tricks for degreasing the pan and for deglazing the pan on the stovetop using white wine or chicken broth. You'll see how to thicken your homemade gravy, using a roux you make with flour and reserved fat. We'll show you how to avoid lumps and clumps, leaving you with a delicious, smooth sauce to drizzle over sliced beef, pork chops, mashed potatoes, stuffing, roast turkey, and chicken. You can make gravy from any meat or poultry—roast turkey, chicken, beef, pork, even bacon!

  • I know this is a gravy making video, but those carrots look so dry.

  • how to make gravy easy !

after roast meat is cooked remove and cover with foil .

add 1 cup of chicken stock to raosting pan and 1 table spoon of flour

bring it to the boil over the stove stirring and scrapping the good bits of the bottom of the pan !

when it has thickened empty into a jug and blend with a hand held blender

this will thicken it some more and get rid of any flour clumps !

tip: add 1 teaspoon of sweet hungarian paprica for colour !

  • @HAFhotandfluffy Apparently you've never tasted the real thing. It's the difference between prime rib and a McDonald's 'burger, a fresh heirloom tomato out of the garden and canned tomatoes, a Ferrari Testarossa and a '72 VW Beetle. You get the picture.
