  • Hi to avoid the wave mark in the floor start off sanding on a 45 / angle. But when you stop at the walls go easy on the handle dont drop it down to hard other wise you will leave a mark where the drums has hit the floor. Good luck

  • @atamolotov good advise

  • I have used the random orbital sander, for fear that a belt sander would give the characteristic wave in the finish. How did you avoid that?

Also, what about space between boards? My floor has that problem.

  • @kc7fys well, i've used the random orbit in another room and it was ok but took a lot of time. With this floor, being it was bad from the last time I did it (because of deep dog pee from the last owners and my attempt to get it the first time) I knew I had to sand deep in some spots. I still feel I didn't do a 100% good job but all I can say is, be aware at all times that too much will cause gouges and bring it up when you think there might be a problem and go over it lightly again & again

  • What's with all these "floor guys" having a whinge? You guys should go out and learn a real trade and stop taking shots at guys who choose not to use your overpriced services.

  • OUCH! You know you can go forward too with the floor sander? Feather the lever at the walls! Move in a slow even fashion. Use a 220 belt floor sander not a 110 drum machine. Start sanding at about a 15 to 20 degree angle. PUT A SHIRT ON!!!

  • I like this video for several reasons. It shows what can go wrong along the way as well with a broken belt, and the numerous spots left in the floor even after running over it once with the sander. Unlike watching a video where everything goes flawless which will just lead to unrealistic expectations unless you get real lucky as a DOI'er.

    Thanks for posting man!

  • nice job. even with a shitty machine and negative comments your floor came out good!

  • This video is too easy to hate on, renting 110 machines from Home Depot is fine if you keep it to yourself, post a video on youtube then expect some greef from us. I don't think this is a how-to video just a hey look at me! video. I don't know, I watched with the sound off.......I stopped at the obital..........my eyes are bleeding.

  • This is hilarious, guy doesnt know how to use either of the machines, not even orbital. crazy, I bet he had to hire someone to redo the floors after him. insane . We redo floors after people like him all the time

  • mate this is a joke people dont follow his instruction im a quailfed floor sander with 30 yrs experience and that is not a heavy duty sanding machine its a toy. do yourself a favour and contract a professional if you care for your home.

  • to avoid any waves get a better machine thats a toy compared to what the pros use as a matter of fact just hire some body

  • at least try and lift the handle for fucks sake

  • a good advert for work safe lmfao

  • This is comical. I need to see part 3

  • @cully86 LMFAO I own a hardwood flooring company. Looking at this video should have any wood worker "having a whinge"
