I put some things together last year and the result is a loud car when I want it to be.

This is probably longer than it needs to be. Sorry for the crappy lighting under the car. I think you'll get the point anyway.

More info: I take this out during the winter for 2 reasons. It's far too close to the ground, and the down pipe is made of aluminized steel which will rot to shit when it gets covered in salt, no matter what they tell you.
This is on a car with stock suspension, so think very hard about angles and what not if you're planning on doing something like this. Also what may be most important to note: power gains, if any, are not noticeable the way I have this set up. The angle at which the extension comes off the down pipe does not flow well enough to increase performance. This is pretty much just a toy.

  • you said it turns check engine light on when opened? or all the time?? and is there anywhere else you can wire the power other than stereo? thanks!

  • I'm sorry, but if you honestly can't think about this and come to an answer to those questions yourself then you might want to have somebody else work on your car.

  • dood it was just an honest question and you didn't have to be an inconsiderate fuck about it. thanks again.

  • Actually I was being very considerate. I want your car to have a long, happy life. I'm sorry you took my advice as an insult.

  • Im thinking about down this to my gti, how much did it cost? and will it make my engine check light go on?

  • $20 and yes

  • The check engine light should only come on if you have put this device in front of the O2 sensor. If it is after the sensor you should have no problems at all and notice power increase

  • im with you. he should not touch his car except to drive it.

  • i didnt even watch the video but looks like you busted open that front door ROFL

  • Even if this video its choppy and loud, the important thing it's that somebody bothered with posting on YouTube as a means of beign informative.

Not even on VW Vortex can you get the "feeling", the pros and cons of a cutout.

    For that alone, thanks man!

I too feel that for a 1.8 T this is the way to go along with an aggressive chip tuning ;-)
