A protostar is a large object that forms by contraction out of the gas of a giant molecular cloud in the interstellar medium. The protostellar phase is an early stage in the process of star formation.

@ZetaProductionz in spore does the Proto-Star/Early Star Actually Develop into Star systems or do they just stay the same old Proto-Star/Early Star because Every so often its a Thousand years or a million years...

A Proto-star is a star that once was living, the star eventually goes supernova, causing all the planets to burn up along with the star. Then, after tens of thousands of years, a new star is born, and almost reversing the process of total supernova.
