Unsu + Bunkai @ 2007 WKF worldchampionships

The Egypt Kata team performing Shotokan Kata Unsu with Bunkai at the 2007 WKF junior & cadet Karatedo worldchampionships final in Instanbul, Turkey.
They won in junior catergory against the Italin who showed Shotokan Gankaku.

Very athletic and very good for competition. Also, very Hollywood, sadly.

As this was so successful, it's a shame, as others will emulate and we'll get further and further and further away from the true applications of these beautiful and brutally simple katas.

@ShotokanBleach It would be useful for you to study the difference between realistic applications and competition-oriented ones. There are massive differences in timing, range, multiple flurries and really very good reasons not to throw yourself onto the floor whilst executing a jumping roundhouse to the head (not that you'd do that anyway). Check out videos by Geoff Thompson, Iain Abernethy and Vince Morris for more realistic applications. Do you expect to be attacked by an oi-tsuki? Really?
