It would be weird or discrediting if he was making a fact-based statement that required vast amounts of research for him to be recognized as an authority. At the end of the day, he's voicing an opinion -- a strong opinion and one that is likely true, but it's still opinion nonetheless. Plus, this is basically an advert for his book/seminar/product...why not pull a quote from it? Others do it all the time.

I think it is really weird that the author of this video quotes himself (@ 1:00) and makes it seem that he is quoting some authority. To me, this downgrades the credibility of the entire video.
