  • Can you tell me what the audio equipment was used on this video?

  • @Custom09 Lectrosonic Wireless Lav and Sennheiser MKH416 Shotgun Mic. They're on our site: magnanimous .biz

  • Why not just use a proper video camera?

  • @JontyKilpatrick you know the deal. Everybody wants that shallow depth of field. DSLRs are very inexpensive way to achieve that look. There are obviously other cameras that operate in a more traditional fashion, but they are MUCH more expensive. We are fortunate to live in a time when there is a tool for every job at just about every price point. DSLRs and shoulder rig systems are comparatively cheap and serve the needs of web video quite well!

  • And all this rig cost you only 2000 $, wait...what ?

Seriously, the Canon 5D cost 2500 $ but this a very good quality videos etc, so i'm ok for the price, but 2000 $ for only a few pieces of plastic, and some other pieces of steel...c'mon men, just don't be stupid, this is ridiculus. But actually thank you for the video, i'm going to build my own and I just have to by some pieces at the store.

  • @lewisbaldacchino or you can rent it from us for only $60/day and that rate includes a monitor!

  • @MagnanimousMediaCorp does the black focus ring you attached to the lens come with the bundle?

  • @MagnanimousMediaCorp Thanks. No I don't really know the deal, genuinely interested tho and I've loads to learn.

In my very limited experience, the quality of a semi pro Dig cam (Sony NX5) is way better than my Nikon 3Ds. I do agree, as an 'art director' I love the look of the D3s with a 80/200 on it at f2.8.

I can just about balance them both out and get the same look. The Nikon is tough to use compared to the sony, the ergonomics are just wrong - which is why you use all that stuff I guess?

  • @lewisbaldacchino Hey, did you ever build this rig from pieces from the store ? If so I would really like to know how it was done and what your cost was ? Thanks man , and that was a great point you made .

  • Something made me cringe when this guy took the lens cap off his lens and proceeded to set the lens, uncapped side downward, onto the table. O.o
