saved this lucky western painted turtle from the terrible secret of space - 2 weeks in his new home and he already looks 100% better - super cute when he climbs out of the water to sit under his heat lamp and stretches his back legs straight out behind him

  • Hey my hubby found a female that some kids were hurting and he brought it home we put her in our outdoor pond. Will she be fine out there do you think? we live in oregon

  • @raven20121985: We have a cold climate here in Northern Ontario, and they seem to be doing very well! Check out the map on the Wikipedia "Painted Turtle" website, as it shows the range of the turtle and it does seem to extend down into Oregon!

  • about a mile from where i live there is a lake and there was five hole with empty turtle eggs in them it was so cool to see

  • @fingerboarder329: I got this turtle when he was this large, but would have loved to have him as a teeny baby turtle, they're so adorable when they're little!! I added some guppies and danios to the tank, as he seemed bored. He chased them for 2 hours trying to eat them, and finally gave up. Now they live happily together and it's added some nice movement to the tank.

  • do u have 1 turtle?

  • @ng31200: It was a 55 gallon tank, but the turtle has been semi-returned to the wild via an animal rescue/service in my home town. He will be living in one of multiple turtle ponds with other native male turtles. I think he will be very happy :D
