FOX21 News highlights Black History month today with a look at great African American activists. Malcolm X was undoubtedly one of the greatest and most influential African Americans in history. In his activist days, he seemed to articulate the complaints of African Americans concerning the raical inequalities of the time.

Although many historians describe him as violent and racist, without Malcolm X, the peaceful and persistent protests of Dr. Martin Luther King could not have been fully appreciated. Dr. King's numerous efforts led to the 1963 march on Washington where he delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech.

In 1964 King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize! These two men, although contrasted by their methodologies, were integral to the end of racial segregation and discrimination.
