1st Period highlights and intermission of Game 7 of the 1987 Norris Division Final between the Red Wings and the Maple Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada.
1. Adam Oates goal
2. Key saves by Glen Hanlon
3. Ron MacLean w/ Joey Kocur
4. Coach's Corner
5. Ron MacLean w/ Scotty Bowman (then a CBC HNIC color commentator).
It seems like the goalies have gotten better which is worse for the viewer I think.

@CMUBrent ,, i hear ya,, but it wasnt like he was doing much for us... thats what im sayin.. i dont see it as a blunder at all.. i know we didnt get much in return,, but i think the trades and drafts after THAT trade did us well,, moves we prolly dont make with him on the roster..

@deebodeez30 The trade was a blunder because the Wings didn't get much for Oates and Paul MacLean. Bernie Federko retired after one season and Tony McKegney was dealt a few weeks later. Plus they traded a good young player to a division rival. Not the single worst trade the Wings ever made, but not a good one either.

No way. If Gretzky and Lemieux were not capable of 500 points, Crosby and Ovechkin certainly would not be capable of that, since Gretzky and Lemieux were better players.
Heck, I would even argue that Yzerman and Messier were better than Crosby and Ovechkin, and they didn't even score 200.

wow if corsby or ovechkin played in this quick sand era he would have 500 points

dealing oates was a blunder? he wasnt that great while he was in detroit, wrong system,, keeping him would not have benefit the wings at all,, aside from that giant 1 mil contract.. :) dealing him was the right thing to do, as with federov.

One of the Wings' biggest blunders, trading away Adam Oates.

Ah, before all those ads take you attention away from the game. As of this season, there are even adds on the Plexiglass behind the goals- and they change every period as well! Someone shall intentionally break the glass on purpose to show that consumerism has gone too far!
