This is a video/slide show of shelter dogs in Grants Pass, OR (Josephine County) when I was a volunteer there and my husband and I were actively rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing dogs and cats. I could not believe the lame excuses people gave for reasons why they abandoned their pets to an overburdened kill shelter. This is dedicated to all the animals at that time and since. It is an unfortunate fact that few of them found homes. This was why I started my dog treat bakery. I have treats in my bakery where 100% of the profits go to specific non-profit breed rescues. Please support no-kill shelters and breed rescues in your area so more animals will have a second chance.

Yes, MissPolkadotlover, the excuses always amaze me. The worst one I ever heard was that the dog no longer fit her home decor since she redecorated. It is so hard now with the economy and home repos. Shelters need all the help they can get. Hopefully, more people will choose to adopt from a shelter.
