Here's my Sirio Boomerang which works well on 10 or 11m bands. Flimsy mounting bracket otherwise ok for the money (around £25).

  • Simple antennas but they work well. Glad you like yours. Best wishes, Rigsearch

  • how far have you talked on this set up???

  • Chris,

I have used one of these very successfully when mounted above the roof of my house and it's range has been similar to that of an 18 foot dipole. It is basically the top half of a centre fed dipole but the bottom quarter wave is a loaded adjustable whip similar to a shortened DV27. Mind you dont expect low SWR over any more than about 60 to 80 channels it's fairly high Q but you could use a tuner to keep it low over a wider range. Hope that helps?

  • Hi rigsearch,

nice video so far. But, can you please show the mounting bracket? I want to install this one on my balcony but I cant find any detailed information about the bracket and the U style screw. I would like to know whats the exact with of the bracket(in mm?) and what diameter does the U screw have?

    Kind regards

    Joachim

  • Hi there how does this fair with the wind i'm interested in getting this one as I need to get a range of 6-7 miles on my CB and in a area that may be funny with say larger 21foot 5/8 wave scaring the neibours ect LOL and don't want to go too small I don't think a bazooka or sirio thunder 27 will quiet do it for me and this looks to be perfect, many thanks...

  • Looks good mate I've seen it advertised on the net. Seems quite a flexible antenna i.e. changing frequency for operation. Sounds like you have a good west country accent too - a rugby man if I'm not mistaken either lol

  • Good video lad...
